# Plan changes and Stripe

> How upgrades, downgrades, checkout, portal sessions, and subscription state work in the app.

Canonical: https://docs.onira.studio/billing/plan-changes-and-stripe
Section: billing

Onira uses Stripe for checkout, subscription changes, invoices, and the customer portal. The app redirects to Stripe in the same browser tab when a billing action requires hosted payment or account management.

## Upgrades

Use the Plans page to upgrade a workspace. Upgrades move through Stripe checkout and return to Onira after completion.

An upgrade can affect:

- Monthly credit grant.
- Member limit.
- Maximum duration.
- Concurrent run cap.
- Export quality.
- Priority queue access.

After checkout, return to the billing overview and confirm the new plan and credit state before starting work that depends on the upgrade.

## Downgrades

Downgrades are scheduled for the end of the current billing period. This avoids interrupting the active paid period.

Before scheduling a downgrade, check:

- Whether the workspace has more members than the target plan allows.
- Whether active projects depend on higher duration caps.
- Whether upcoming renders need higher export quality.
- Whether active runs would exceed the lower concurrent run cap.

The lower plan limits apply when the downgrade becomes active.

## Annual billing

The Plans page supports monthly and yearly views. Yearly billing presents the annual price and grants annual plan credits up front.

Use annual billing when the workspace expects steady production volume and wants the yearly pricing model.

## Customer portal

Use the Stripe customer portal for billing-account operations such as:

- Managing payment methods.
- Viewing Stripe-hosted billing information.
- Updating subscription details where supported.
- Cancelling a subscription.

Cancellation is handled through the portal.

## Checkout and portal redirects

Billing redirects happen in the current tab. If a redirect fails:

1. Return to the Onira billing page.
2. Refresh workspace billing state.
3. Retry the action.
4. Contact support if Stripe completed the payment but Onira still shows the previous state.

Include the invoice number or Stripe receipt when contacting support.

## Enterprise

Enterprise plans use custom commercial terms. Contact sales for custom credits, team limits, queue behavior, and production requirements.

## Product and publication boundary

- Onira produces a reviewable MP4; it does not upload or schedule social posts.
- Creators remain responsible for facts, sources, rights, disclosure, policy review, and final publication.
- Research is research-assisted; creator verification is required before publication.
- Onira does not guarantee factual accuracy, legal clearance, monetization, reach, or production success.
- The current Timeline and Studio surfaces support defined review and regeneration workflows, not arbitrary nonlinear editing.
