Current capabilities

What Onira can do today across production, Studio, billing, characters, voices, and export.

This page lists what the current product supports. It is written from the shipped app surfaces and backend contracts, not from future roadmap copy.

Production creation

Onira can start a production from:

  • A free-form prompt.
  • A selected target duration.
  • A narration language.
  • An output aspect ratio.
  • A model profile.
  • A Plan review toggle.
  • Optional saved characters from the workspace library.
  • Optional template handoff from the Templates page.

The app estimates credits before production begins. It gates creation on available credits, using the maximum reservation rather than only the expected point estimate.

Generated production assets

A completed production can include:

  • A screenplay.
  • A blueprint with direction, characters, subjects, settings, and key moments.
  • Narration audio.
  • Character portraits and voice choices.
  • Subject images and setting lookbooks.
  • Scene visuals and generated video clips.
  • Music.
  • Sound effects.
  • Subtitles.
  • A timeline consumable by the project workspace.
  • Renderable MP4 output.

Review and revision

The project workspace supports:

  • Blueprint review before the rest of generation continues.
  • Reviewing direction, thesis, hook, visual world, ending, key moments, characters, subjects, and settings.
  • Regenerating blueprint character portraits and subject images while the review gate is open.
  • Choosing or swapping required voices while the review gate is open.
  • Regenerating one selected PREVIEW timeline video clip through Director chat.
  • Using blueprint, voice, subtitle, timeline-version, and render controls separately where those direct controls are available.
  • Selecting version history for generated timeline video assets.
  • Inspecting timeline-level details and using the explicit controls exposed for subtitles, mute state, and asset versions.
  • Styling subtitles.
  • Rendering and downloading final exports.

Project organization

Workspaces can:

  • List projects.
  • Search projects.
  • Filter by project status.
  • Sort project lists.
  • Star projects.
  • Create, rename, and delete project folders.
  • Rename projects.
  • Move projects into folders.
  • Delete projects when they are not locked by an in-flight run.
  • See recent projects in the sidebar.

Characters and voices

Onira has reusable character and voice libraries.

Saved characters can carry:

  • Character type.
  • Appearance.
  • Voice profile.
  • Reference image.
  • Active version.
  • 3D mesh URL when generated.
  • Assigned voice.
  • Portrait history.
  • Favorite state.
  • Usage count.

Character editing includes type selection, voice assignment, version selection, active-version promotion, front/back portraits, and 3D model preview when a mesh exists. These are character controls, not Director chat actions.

Voice library support includes saved voices, preview audio, search by name/accent/style/tag, gender filtering, catalog search, save, and remove.

Billing and limits

Billing supports:

  • Plans.
  • Credit balances.
  • Frozen credits for in-flight generations.
  • Credit top-ups.
  • Usage charts.
  • Usage by project.
  • Usage by member.
  • Credit ledger history.
  • Invoices.
  • Subscription checkout.
  • Subscription downgrade scheduling.
  • Stripe billing portal access.

Plan limits control commercial duration entitlement, concurrent runs, workspace members, queue lane, and render quality. A separate evidence-based engine qualification ceiling also limits the effective production duration; the conservative release default is 3 minutes.

Render and export

Exports are separate render attempts. The current Export tab supports:

  • Render quality selection.
  • Per-plan quality locking.
  • Queued and rendering states.
  • Render progress.
  • Render history.
  • Failed-render details.
  • Previewing completed renders.
  • Downloading completed renders.

Mobile support

The current mobile project fallback can inspect a project, show production status, show renders, start eligible renders, preview/download completed renders, and copy a link for desktop editing. The current mobile character fallback can inspect a character, play its voice, view portrait history, and copy a link for desktop editing.
