Asset versions and regeneration
How generated asset versions are kept and selected in the project workspace.
Onira keeps version history for generated assets where the workflow supports alternatives. Version history lets users compare outputs without losing earlier results.
Blueprint assets
At the blueprint approval gate, users can regenerate:
- Cast character portraits.
- Subject images.
The Blueprint tab shows loading state while a card is busy. Approval is locked while any card mutation is in flight.
Blueprint settings currently show lookbook cards as review material, not freeform editable cards.
Voice choices
Blueprint characters that require a voice must have a selected voice or selected voice candidate before the blueprint can be approved.
Narrators and voice-only characters are shown as voice rows. On-screen cast characters show portrait cards with voice controls.
Timeline video versions
When a timeline video clip has more than one generated version, the Timeline tab exposes a Versions sheet. The sheet shows current versions and lets the user select the active one.
Changing the active video version refetches Timeline and Storyboard data so the workspace reflects the selected clip.
Chat regeneration boundary
Director chat can regenerate one selected PREVIEW timeline video clip. The selected clip supplies the scope; chat does not provide broad plan-based editing for the rest of the film.
Blueprint portrait and subject regeneration, voice choice, subtitle styling, track muting, video-version selection, render, and download are separate direct controls. Do not describe those controls as chat actions.
Practical versioning rules
- Do not render immediately after a regeneration request until the timeline reflects the new active version.
- If a regenerated version is worse, switch back to the earlier version instead of regenerating repeatedly.
- For chat regeneration, select the PREVIEW video clip and describe the replacement precisely.
- Check subtitles and audio after video changes because pacing and readability can shift.
